Audio Books: What Is An Audio Book

An audio book is simply a recording of spoken word. Audio books can come in various formats such as on CD's, Mp3 files, cassette tapes and other digital formats that can be downloaded. Audio books have seen a dramatic increase in popularity, as they can be listened to whilst doing other tasks. Audio books can be word for word recording of printed books or can be shortened to enable the publishers to make the audio book more sellable. Audio books are a great aid for blind or visually impaired people and are also a great way for small children to enjoy their favourite stories.

Many people choose to listen to audio books whilst in the car instead of the radio, on the bus, [lane or train and if you are traveling for long periods of time, whether it be on a long journey or simply commuting to and from work each day stuck in traffic, audio books can provide the ideal opportunity to acquire more knowledge or even learn a new language.
